Algorithm for Resonator Parameter Extraction From Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Transmission Responses

We describe an algorithm capable of extracting the unloaded quality factor and resonant frequency microwave resonators from vector S-parameters. Both symmetrical (Lorentzian) asymmetrical (Fano) transmission responses are supported. The performs adaptive outlier removal to discard measurement points affected by noise or distortion. It removes effects caused imperfections in device (such as modes with close resonance frequencies stray coupling between resonator ports) experimental setup lack isolation dispersion test set cables). present extensive assessment performance based on a numerical perturbation analysis evaluation S-parameter fitting results obtained network analyzer measurements equivalent circuits.
